Giuseppe Novelli, PhD

Giuseppe Novelli earned his Ph.D in Genetics from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1985. In 1995 he became Professor of genetics at University of Rome Tor Vergata. From 2008 to 2011 he was president of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Tor Vergata. In 2013 he was elected rector (president) of the university.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Novelli served for 4 years as member of OECD (Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development) in Genetic Tests Programs in Europe, and for many years in the Italian National Committee for Biotechnology and the National Committee on Genetic Testing of the Italian Ministry of Health. Dr. Novelli also served as a member of the Ministry for Social Affairs and Health (France) and the Pharmacogenetics Advisory Board of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) (USA). Novelli is an accomplished researcher with over 400 publications in the fields of genetics and biochemistry to date.
